*deep sigh* Alright. Where should I begin?:P
A couple of days ago, I just read another shocking news about The Stupid Draft (RUU APP).:| Some local mass media reported that Balkan Kaplele (the chief of the special committee for The Stupid Draft --- also a man with a useless, crappy job I despise the most these days :x) had somehow claimed that at least ten parties in The People's Legislative (DPR - Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat) agreed and the discussion was done --- and now being delivered to Mr.President SBY for further approval. Worst of all, it was completely out of the public's eye. Forget the over 25,000 votes against The Stupid Draft versus 6,000 for I've mentioned months ago. Minority's tyranny is such a scary prediction for the future of my beloved country. Will it ever possibly come true?:( Hell, I never want to!
And why the hell do they still call it The People's Legislative (DPR), if they never actually represent the regular citizens' best interests? What for, when all they actually want to do is just make more money for themselves out of this so-called policy with their morality bullshit excuses, and don't give a damn about what most of my fellow citizens really need anymore? Name poverty. Mention famine. Remember the out-of-school children, thanks to the overly expensive tuition fees. And please don't forget the massive unemployment either and displaced people too --- homeless or either the victims of natural disasters like the earthquake and the tsunami. Why won't they take care of all these matters first? They can say any crap about morality, believing they're the so-called holy saints who claim to know it all. Why? Because most of them are already filthy rich.*rolls eyes* Of course, they too are greedy, wanting to get richer than ever. They still get to eat properly (or maybe a whole lot more than they can actually chew) and live in very decent places with lots of bodyguards and without having to really worry so damn much about life.
Logically, desperate people with empty stomachs and lack of education more often don't even have time to question morality.:| What do they (have to) say about all that?*scoffs* They're just freaking desperate, for God's sake!

"People told me, that it's impossible
to be respected, and be a girl..."

("I'm Sensitive" by.Jewel Kilcher, from the album "Pieces of You")

Is it really true?:'-( Is it??
It's already bad enough for any girl like me in Jakarta to have to always watch our surroundings while we're going out --- especially alone and at night --- only to stay safe.:( It's also already way too aggravating to have some random dudes/lecherous creeps on the street call us names in the most harrassing ways.:x (Ugh!) It's even so sickening to have to accept minimum wage with the same working-hours as your male colleagues, only because you're a woman.*rolls eyes* (But if that guy gets bigger salary because he must support his family, heck...I can totally understand that. What about single moms??)
Now they're trying their best --- only to make things worse. They're selling out religions only to cover up their perverted behaviour. What a bunch of twisted hypocrites!*scoffs* It's only, merely their shallow aggravation --- harshly judging any woman only from their outside appearance.

"Nothing wrong with this dress I wear
Nothing wrong with this smile I dare
Nothing wrong with my long, black hair
It's all in your mind, in your mind."

("In Your Mind" by.Anggun and Jean-Pierre Taieb, from the album "Luminescence")

They want to be the leaders of the entire universe for the rest of their lives? Fine. They want higher salary? Well, take it! But leave the regular, struggling citizens alone. They're not helping them at all, really. Besides, not all expressive arts are (considered) pornography. Why should they be such perverts?*scoffs*
And not all women who go out at night are sluts, okay? Tangerang, take that stupid law off your books!:x

"I'm a free-spirited butterfly.
Clip my wings, and through slow insanity I'll die."

If The Controversial Politician Balkan Kaplele ever succeeds with The Stupid Draft, I hope that he and the rest of those so-called holy saints and perverted hypocrites will seriously choke on their own blood money to death. I hate them.:x I fucking hate them! They just don't care anymore. This country consists of many cultures and religions, and we've all been like that for years without any serious hassles (well, at least unlike what had happened back in May 1998 here.:|) Every soul is unique. Each group has different standards of morality. Why do they make such a fuss about it now? To show the whole citizens they're still reliable and doing their job?*rolls eyes* To show them they're doing the 'right' thing their own ways? Bullshit!
I guess they all forget the massive terror back in May 1998.:( Do we have to suffer the same old turmoil again (or something a whole lot worse than that), only to have them slapped real hard in their faces and make them open up their mortal eyes, greedy hearts, and twisted minds? They're all human beings too, not holy-saints nor angels. They can never really play God with this. They're not even supposed to.*scoffs*
Balkan Kaplele, I surely hope you'll ever get to read this.:x I seriously need to let you know that I truly, madly, deeply hate you now. I have no respect for you. I'm sure you're already way filthy rich enough, so your precious wife and honourable daughters (well, that if you have any) don't have to work anymore --- not even like those poor souls out there on the streets, who have to sell their bodies just to survive their already too difficult lives.:| Fuck you, Balkan Kaplele. You just have no idea, don't you? You don't know the terror you've been putting us through. If this nonsensical shit ever really happens, I hope you'll be very very sorry as hell!:x And I'm not afraid of you. You're no God and I owe you no shit, not even my own freedom. All my rewards and sins are God's decisions, not yours or any mortal here on earth. That's that.
And dear Mr.President SBY, if you ever get to read this too, I pray that you still have your clear and true conscience to realise what's better and far more important for the regular citizens (definitely not The Stupid Draft!) And I'm sorry, I have no more respect left for your vice Mr.Jusuf Kalla --- especially after he'd said that Indonesian women were perfect commodities for Middle Eastern men.:x Shame on him!
*sighs*And they say I have serious trust issues --- especially with men.*rolls eyes* But these days, can anyone ever really blame me for that? Is it my fault that I just don't feel safe anymore?:'-( It's not fair!
.........................
Meanwhile, I stick to my short-sleeve tees and well-fitting jeans.:P And the night-skies belong to my kind too!
A couple of nights ago, I'd sent the translated version of that horrible news to...who else?:) My best friend Tiger. And he called me on my way home after he'd read that. How sweet of him, although I feel that he still doesn't get it when he told me I had to discuss this matter with my whole family. (It was also the reason why I'd cried talking to him that night, while my own parents were in the car too.:( I bet they wondered, 'though they didn't ask questions after that. I have my strange English accent they can barely understand.:P) They all see me as an overly-paranoid freak whenever I want to talk about that with them. They just never really get me.
And I shouldn't have made him worry.*blushes* I hope he's having a good time with his family when he's home.:D
Well, let's just hope the worst shall never have to happen, okay?:|
The good thing is, I had a good time yesterday.:) I was invited to visit the local radio station 101.4 Trax FM in Sarinah Building (eight floor), Sudirman, South Jakarta --- with a group of people from SPICE!'s mailing list at two pm. It was fun.:D Taking a tour, getting to know some of the staff like the producers, the scriptwriters, the announcers, the operators, the music directors, and even the marketing people. I've even won a doorprize (a pair of cute slippers, so cute that they don't fit at all and I gave them away to one of the morning staff in my restaurant :P). From the latest issue of SPICE!, I'd found out that I too won a T-shirt --- so the crew specifically invited me to join them walking back to their headquarter in Wisma Kosgoro (eleventh floor), only a block away from Sarinah Building after the gathering event.:P I talked to their nice secretary Bernadette and their new chief editor...Jessica Huwae (who'd called me to inform about the publication of my short-story in their November issue.:D) She is very cool and down-to-earth. She has her short stories published and her chicklit debut "Soulmate.com" is a success.
I also checked about Hoobastank's concert ticket to Aquarius in Mahakam, Blok M --- and they said the news would officially be out sometime in the middle of this month. Hmm...:-S
