She could sit there for hours,
silently pondering all matters
over a light meal and a cup of tea (or perhaps, coffee?)
External distractions were her unpleasant enemies.

She would sit there for hours,
with an interesting, open book in her hands
to help her to escape to some distant land
where she could just be herself and not pretend.

She can sit there for hours.
Loneliness doesn't intimidate her.
Sometimes solitude is her greatest friend.
She has no problems doing it again.

She does what she wants,
when she sits there for hours.
Going online on her laptop or have a writing done,
until she feels much better.

Then suddenly, her phone rings,
asking her to come home.
Her heart is sinking,
aching for another rare sense of freedom.

Someday soon,
she'll do more than just sitting there for hours,
pondering over matters.
For now, she has to keep putting up with the same old boredom,
until she can find her own space that really feels like 'home'.
