I don’t admire all winners. Not all of them are true champions. Even if they play fair, some of them are not that humble. They tend to brag to the world everytime they conquer. Honestly, that attitude makes me sick.

Some others don’t play fair when achieving victory. Sometimes the evidence is in plain sight, other times it’s hidden. How does anyone know?

Either way, eventually it shows. No one can hide their shame forever. God sees everything.

The humble winners are rare. Perhaps that’s what happens when people choose not to brag about their achievements. On the other hand, some people may perceive this a ‘softer’ term for ‘losers’, but I admire...the underdogs.

I know some winners start off as underdogs too. It’s the journey, effort, and decisions that make a difference. Some of them are admirable for plenty of reasons. I admire their genuine struggles, despite not having the same benefits and perhaps privileges like their bigger rivals. They keep on fighting despite being looked down upon and not taken seriously.

Some of these underdogs may end up feeling discouraged by such awful treatments that they give up the fight. That’s how they remain underdogs. Others choose to remain consistent with what they do, until one day...

....they become the dark horses.

The Undermined Threats

Dark horses are the tip of the balance, the danger of a status quo. They exist to overthrow the champion, which somehow has fallen asleep. That’s what happens when you’ve grown too comfortable with where you are. You forget to upgrade yourself. Surprise, surprise.

What happens when the dark horses take over? Of course, the new leadership emerges. New rule, regulations, or/and policies? All? Who knows?

I like some underdogs who take defeat more gracefull than the ‘have been winners’. This positive attitude is also shown by those who realise that they haven’t been on the game that long. To them, losing is just another consequence or result of a competition. This is just life. You don’t always get what you want, so deal with it.

Everytime you lose, you learn from your past mistakes. After that, you can choose to return to the same battlefield next time, but with (hopefully) better strategies. You can also do something else if you feel like that’s not (or no longer) for you. It’s your choice.

Once the dark horses become the new winners, how to stay on top? How to remain humble despite the victory – and not develop the same , megalomaniac attitude some frequent winners may have had?

As usual, only time will tell...

R.
